People can arrive at this destination in many ways; the loneliness can happen because may be a person has gone through a divorce or sadly lost a partner earlier in their lives. They do not always wish to re-open the wounds by letting someone into their life again. They decide on being singles purely due to not wishing to find someone.

There are seniors who have probably never married throughout their lives and are just single through the passing time , so they have remained single all the time and are now deemed as a �member� of the senior singles group.
Then there are people that are genuinely lonely and have searched for love but have never discovered it and so are classed also as single.

So, is it really that bad to be part of the singles group? This depends altogether on your personality, if you are friendly and are not afraid to meet with new people then you will deal with your being alone status well. If on the other hand you are shy , and find it hard to meet new people you might find it difficult to agree with the single label that you seem to of been presented with.

There are many of occasions open to a single to meet others , and you do not have to be the most extroverted person going either. Becoming a senior singles need not be as frightening as you might first think; it can open up new roads for you that you probably would not considered taking if you had a partner.

There are some beautiful coach tours available that visit some delightful places; many of the people on the tours are seniors that find out the pleasure of travelling away from the area for the day. Just escaping from daily life and being in the company of others in a similar situation is like a breath of fresh air to most senior singles .

There are many travel companies specialising in holidays especially catered for senior singles, just simple sightseeing holidays nothing too exhilarating. They give you the opportunity to break away on your own though , and can offer a welcomed confidence boost for the senior singles .
