How To Relieve The Troubles Of Poor Digestion
by Dennis Boesen, Den
Every part of your body from the mouth down to the rectum is considered a functioning part of the digestive system. The goal is to break down the food you eat either for repairing the body or for elimination, and every organ must perform a particular task to efficient do the job. When something goes wrong with this process of digestion, most people are left with a lot of discomfort that they do not know how to get rid of.

An issue with digestion can occur to varying levels, but common signs are regular heart burn, gas, stomach cramps, and bloating. By adjusting just a few things in your daily diet, you could have relief almost immediately.

Consuming a diet that is rich in fiber and other nutrients is the first step. Most foods contain nutrients that are essential to digestion in their natural state, but when they are processed for consumption this part is stripped away. Your body is much slower when it comes to digestion of processed foods, and in some cases may not know how to break it down at all.

Reducing the amount of processed foods you consume and balancing them with fruits, vegetables, and plenty whole grains is crucial to your digestive system.

The second step is to cut back on sugar. The harmful side effects of sugar go well beyond the size of your thighs and high blood sugar levels. This substance also encourages yeast and bacteria to enter your body and multiply. Too much bacteria or yeast in your system and there could be awkward digestion issues coming your way. If you are taking in more whole grains and fresh fruits and vegetables then it is likely you will reduce your sugar intake in the process.

Next, you want to ensure that you are really hungry when you eat. When you are legitimately hungry your body releases enzymes which help move the food from the stomach to other parts of the digestive system. When you eat for reasons other than hunger the food has less stimulation without these enzymes. If you eat at scheduled times during the day, you may be able to improve digestion just by listening to your body's hunger symptoms instead of the clock.

Fourth, you want to slow down while chewing. While in the stomach, your food mixes with saliva and starts to break down. When you eat too fast or take in a lot of food in a short period of time, your body doesn't have the time it needs to correctly break down each particle of food. This can create a lot of discomfort later in the digestion process.

The most effective way to improve your digestive system is to closely monitor how you feel after eating different categories of food. Every system is different, so certain foods will effect everyone differently.

Once you discover the root of your issues, natural relief should kick in quickly.
