If you are new to your business, I would encourage you to know WHY you started the business. If you have been around your home business for a while but have yet to achieve the level you want, re-evaluate your WHY reasons. If you have been around a while with a good mentor / coach then you already know this so this article may not be for you.

Wherever you are in the process of succeeding if you don't know your "why" STOP right now! Don't do anything else until you have defined at least 20 reasons why you're working your home based business. Because if you don't know your "why" I can almost promise you failure in your business.

I understand that that may be a harsh statement but it really is true. You must know what you're fighting for before beginning the battle. Trust me there are days in any business that will seem like a battle.

Your "why" is WHY are you doing the business? WHY do you want to make money from home? WHY do you want the financial and time freedom? WHY ??

It's been said: "If you don't know WHY the How does not matter!"

Now that you understand what "Why" means, spend some time digging deep inside and write down everything that comes to mind. You should easily come up with at least 20 reasons. Now take a few more minutes to identify your Top 3 reasons.

When you're making your list of "why reasons" you should NOT write down money. Multiple studies have proven that money does not motivate like things. Yes it takes money to acquire things but it is the specific things that will motivate more than the money itself.

Think about things that make you emotional. The things on your list should be about your spouse, your children, your parents, your dreams? things that really hit you hard. Now I can't tell you exactly what your why is for you personally but let me give you some examples of what it is for a lot of people?

Quitting your job?

Letting your spouse quit his or her job?

Being able to care for your parents?

Being able to give your children a great lifestyle?

Buying the house of your dreams?

Giving more money to your church or a favorite charity?.

Waking up every morning and doing exactly what YOU want?

Saving for your kid's college?

Cruising around the world (or any dream vacation)?

Retire early and rich?

Now that you have your list, think about it every single day, don't let it out of your mind. When you come home from a hard day at your JOB, you may not feel like working on your business. Pull out your list and read over it for a few minutes.

If you want real success in your home based business, know your WHY!
