Like all other network marketers or leaders in the MLM or network marketing industry, it is natural that you will approach your family and friends first to expand your MLM business. They are your first most prospective customers as they are more likely to trust and help you. Also, they will be more lenient to you if you should make any mistakes during your presentation to them.
When you start thinking about your prospective customer list down everyone you know. Get out the mailing list from your last invitation only event- even if it was your wedding twenty years ago. Plan to have at least 100 names in your prospect list.
After you have listed down the names, you should think of how best to contact each of them. You probably want to start with your closer contacts. When you start any kind of business, family and friends are very important to you. Don't blow your relationship with them as they will get irritated of seeing you.
You can start by introducing the product followed by an attempt sale. Keep them updated of your company's new product and special offers regularly. If they decided to give you a chance or to try the product, they will naturally purchase it.
You can also rely on you family and friends to use their contact to build your prospect database. After all they have family and friends you don't know. These are natural extension of your customer list. Sometimes you can simply ask people to give you a list of names of people whom they think may like that product or will be interested to become a distributor.
Another source of prospect are your neighbors. They provide a very good opportunity for you to share with them about your company and product. Even if you do not know your neighbor, they are still a good source of leads, it is also natural that you approach them to share your company or products
You have to learn how to assess your neighbors based on their characters etc. Definitely I agree that your neighbors may be one of your best customers because they live nearby you. Some neighbors however are not as friendly, and they may be turned off when disturbed. And for that matter, should you try to approach them to become a distributor of yours.... Think twice!
Another way of prospecting is through advertising. Many people are reluctant to try advertisement. Main reason being the cost. But because your advertisement reach out to more people, it may be a good idea to use advertisement to increase the effectiveness of your prospecting and advertising activities.
There are many ways you can advertise your MLM network marketing business. You can explore the options of newspapers, magazines, radio, email messages and many more online ads strategies available. The most important thing is to know what you are going to include in your advertisement - commonly known as your "sales copy". We recommend that you include the very basic details like product name and key benefits together with your name, contact and some offer of free information or samples. You can also consider including your website URL in the advertisement if you have one.
