As we mentioned in previous articles during the last stage of the menstrual cycle normally a layer of endometriosis lining in the inside of the uterus is expelled, known as menstruation blood but instead some of the endometriosis tissues grow somewhere in the body causing endometriosis. Endometriosis also reacts to hormonal signals of the monthly menstrual cycle, building up tissue, breaking it, and eliminating it through the menstrual period. In this article, we will discuss how environmental toxins cause endometriosis.

I. What is environment toxins?

It is unbelievable that over 70,000 synthetic chemicals are used commercially and approximately a thousand more new chemicals are introduced into our environment each year such as insecticides, herbicides, gasoline fume, dry cleaning chemicals, personal care products,etc. These types of man made toxins accumulated in our body every have a dangerous effects in our body system, especially the woman reproductive organ.

II. Environment toxins and endometriosis

1. Stimulating the production of bad estrogen

Environmental toxins enter our body stimulating the production of certain hormones. It may cause high levels of estrogen during menstrual cycle elevating the activity of endometriosis.

2. Weakening immune system

Our immune system guards our body against the invasion of bacteria and virus, and regulates the normal function of our body. Weaken immune system might allow the forming of endometrial implants or adhesion, if the immune system can not destroy endometrial cell adhere to some organs in our body.

3. Inflammation

Environmental toxins cause inflammation in our body. Too much environmental toxins in our body damage our immune and nervous system, weakening their ability to repair damaged tissue function that allows endometrial implants or adhesion to develop in some parts in the body.

4. Hormonal imbalance

Environmental toxins promote high levels of estrogen during the menstrual cycle causing irregular menstruation and increasing the risk of endometrial implants and adhesion.

5. Stimulating coelomic metaplasia

Environmental toxins interfere with the normal function of cellular development causing cellular abnormality resulting of some peritoneum cells to develop into endometrial cells.
