Inspired by their new partnership with the International 49er Class Association, the Velatura Yachting Timer provides that important precision to give any competitor the edge they need to set them apart from their competitors. Both of the new Yachting Timers provide race specific features which are vital to ensure pole position and precise, to the second timing.

The recent sponsorship partnership has put Seiko in the forefront of 49er class ?yacht? racing. This high endurance water sport combines a 32 knot, 4.9 meter dingy boat and two daring sailors, each race being as much of a challenge and as incredibly exciting as the last. This high performance sport demands nothing less than the accuracy, precision and expert time keeping of the Seiko brand. While perfecting the creation of the Yachting Timer watches, the consultation of the 49ers was a key part of the design process.

Functionally, the watches offer a pre-race countdown timer which can be set to sound at 10, 6 or 5 minutes before the start of the race with distinct colouring on the dial to make the intervals clear to the wearer. A contrasting red colour hand carefully and precisely counts down the seconds to the race making sure you never miss that ever important second. Then the gun sounds, the race begins and the Velatura Timer takes over immediately, recording each second of the race ? beginning to end.

With its great design and myriad of features including a separate chronograph and alarm, the new Yachting Timers are set to become watch to have for land and water racers alike.
