You get assaulted on a daily basis with a multitude of emails, adds, text etc... from every corner telling you that you need the latest tools that will guarantee your success. Of course some do deliver but others don't. The question we will address in this article is not whether these claims are over the top or not but most importantly what guidelines to use to help you make the right choice.

So you do not make the same mistake I have done and am sorry to say on more than one occasion,please check your hard disk, your bookshelf and yes your garage and do an inventory of all the tools and resources you already have. This action alone will save you a lot of time and money. How many times have you downloaded some tool or report you already had?

Next make a note of the tools you already use. Ask yourself how many times you have used them? Are they useful or can you do without. At the end of that exercise you should be able to clear the decks and your mind so you can write down an action plan that will help you decide on the goals you need to achieve success.

Let's say you have identified the need to increase your marketing business website organic traffic, a very good choice! You then do a search on the internet looking for free or free trial marketing tools for you to download or use that claim they can help you achieve your goal.

It is also a good idea to search the web for reviews of this tool but maybe even better ask for guidance from any of the relevant forum you belong to, that way you might get a more appropriate response from people you might know and trust especially if you have been a forum member for a while.

Free and trial free marketing tools are an excellent choice as they give you the chance to try before you buy and see for yourself if they fit your needs. Most importantly if they increas your organic traffic? If not at least you have not wasted your money.

However don't forget to factor in your time. This is crucial as you would not want to be spending all your time performing a function that another marketing tool can do for half the time leaving you free to spend that quality time with your loved ones.

In conclusion the answer to that question depends on your business model. This is the reason you really do need to write down and then implement your action plan. That way you will identify the need for any marketing tools but most importantly these marketing tools will help you achieve your goals.
