My Daddy is still using that old garden hose which my grandfather boughtlong back in seventies. Not only the garden hose, there are some other gardentools he is still using also. I'm really surprised to how he maintains thosegarden tools! May be he knows the best ways of extending the life of his gardentools. This has really inspired me to take care of my garden tools more thanever I could have. Whether it's protecting your hose from hazardous conditionsor repairing, you need to know some basic stuff for this.

It has been observed that there are two main problems that occur:

1.      Cracking and/or splitting ofthe tube or conduit; and

2.      Kinking of water/cylinder.

You can easily repair this damage without any further hassle ofusing exclusive joiners into your garden watering habit.

Garden tools like garden hose is one of the significant garden toolsthat you use, frequently. This is obvious to find hoses as mostly abused gardentool. Usual problems are leaks, kinks and bent end fittings. But there isnothing to be unhappy about this. Fortunately, good quality branded hoses canbe repaired for use during next summer. To meet the common you may need somelocally available repairing products:  Duct Tape, Garden Hoses, Garden Shears, HoseAttachment, Hose Repair Fitting, Mild Liquid Soap, Permanent Markers, Duct Tape,and Permanent markers.

Thread a gun-type nozzle onto the end of the leaking hose. Switch onthe hose to check the punch or leak. Now switch off the hose, take away thenozzle and spot the leak with black tape or a marker. If you have a hose repairkit, it's fine. If you don't have, then go to your nearest garden tools shop orhardware store and buy one hose repairing kit for yourself. Such investment is notwaste of money as you can use this for each time you repair your hose. Repairkits help you cutting any damaged section out of the hose and reattach the twopieces with a new jointer. Cut off the leaky part of the hose with the help of yourgarden shears. If you find the punch in the centre of the hose, cut an inch ortwo on either side of the leak. Soak the cut end in hot, soapy water. The hotwater helps the rubber expanding and softening, and making it easier to slipthe repair fitting inside the hose. Clamp the plastic pieces on either side ofthe hose and screw them in place tightly so that water won't come out throughthe loosening parts.
