How To Automate Your Affiliate Marketing Business
by Michael Desire Alladoum, Mic
Now that you have your affiliate marketing business, wouldn't it be nice if it simply ran by itself, generating sales and leads and recruits with no effort from you? Sure, it would be nice, but we are not quite there yet. However, there are things you can do as a business owner to make your site more automated, and as a result, your business more automated.

One of the first things you have to do when you start an affiliate marketing business is to get people to your site. All the best website bells and whistles are not going to mean a thing if no one sees them all. Four of the best ways to drive traffic to your site is through writing articles, issuing press releases, blogging, and creating links back to your site.

Remember, if you are going to use these methods of generating traffic to your website, have something informative to say. Press releases, especially, should have a news angle, something that is important and newsworthy. Sorry, getting traffic to your website is key, so you'll have to put some work in if you want the automated part of your business kick in.

If you are getting hits on your website, you want to keep your potential customers interested enough to register for more information. One of the best ways to do this is to offer free stuff. E-books, newsletters, and CDs are all good ways to entice people to sign up for more information. This is where the automation comes in. Your website must have an autoresponder.

An autoresponder is a mechanism that allows you to immediately---and automatically---respond to someone who has e-mailed you. Most large companies use them to announce sales or specials, but small businesses can use them, too. You can send out a variety of messages automatically, thanking a person for their interest in your product, or trying to entice them further by offering a free course or more free stuff. Once someone signs up, you can send them a free five-day course or what ever else you think might keep that potential customers interested in your product.

Basic autoresponders are free; you can find them on the web and add them to your website. For more sophisticated autoreponders, you will have to shell out some money, but it might be worth it to you depending on your needs and the amount of business you are generating. Keep in mind that free autoresponders aren't really free. Every time you send an automated e-mail to a potential client, an ad will be attached to your e-mail. If you want to avoid that, you'll have to purchase an autoresponder for your site. Another thing to keep in mind is that people who were interested in your product can become annoyed if they receive too many e-mails and might start considering them spam. Use your autoresponder judiciously.

E-mail marketing is still considered one of the best and easiest ways to reach potential customers automatically, and large corporations rely on this marketing method to increase their bottom line. More small businesses are also tapping in on this cost-effective method of marketing.
