Efficient Tips For Origami
by Roy J Walker, Roy
?Origami? is the creative art done using paper. It originated in China, but is the common art of Japan. It involves the creation of some amazing images by folding paper. The standard paper used for origami is generally 15 cms, it has a few standard folds through which one can create the bases. Once the base is ready a few other folds can create numerous other shapes. Origami is quite easy once you get used to the techniques of folding paper; however there are a few points to be kept in mind while doing the same.

A few tips for Origami folding are;

? Make use of crisp paper. Do not simply use any paper, also don't buy some expensive paper at first itself, you'll just be wasting it. Try and choose a paper that is differently colored on each side, so that you know which the front and back is. Also, initially choose something simple and lesser complex to make.

? You need to learn all the basic folds of origami. Most people make a common mistake of doing origami without even knowing the initial basic folds.

? Make sure you do all the folding on a straight, stable and solid surface. This way you will be very close to perfection.

? Fold each and every crease well. All the creases have to be flattened well in order to attain utmost success at creating the model (obviously unless the instructions are telling you not to fold it well). Besides, make all your folds neatly, don't mess the thing up by repeated doing it wrong.

? Be patient at doing your work. Origami requires a lot of attention and patience. Take a short break now and then, this way you won't get restless and can do it patiently. Don't rush into doing something. Remember that practice makes a man perfect. You will ultimately get a hand at it if you do it often.

? Follow the instructions correctly. Each part of the instructions is equally important. You have to read the description properly and look at the illustrations given closely. If you miss out on any of the points given, things might get complicated and difficult and you might end up creating a different image from the one you intend to.

? While folding make sure that the corners and edges meet precisely and accurately.

? Apart from all and most importantly, have fun while doing origami. The more you enjoy it, the better is the image that you create. Don't do it forcefully or when you are not in a mood too. Also, do it without any disturbance or interference.

All in all, origami is a fun filled art for kids and adults. Each on can do it at their own level. It's enjoyed by everyone and the models ultimately look beautiful too. If all of the above mentioned tips are followed while carrying out origami, you are sure to get the best results!
