If you own a business, you have to have a brochure. There is just no way around it. If you don't have a brochure, you are missing out on a great opportunity to add business and, of course, money. Brochures are wonderful marketing tools, and relatively inexpensive. Many business owners neglect to make brochures because they consider them old-fashioned or ineffective. Neither of those is true, however.

Think Like a Customer
You cannot design your brochures from your own point of view. If you do, the results will be disastrous and you will likely fall flat on your face. Instead, you must design your brochures from the point of view of your customers. Think the way your customers think. What do your customers need? What words will get their attention? What images will make them look more closely? Those are the things that you should be considering as you design your brochures.

Make a Good First Impression
The first page of your brochure is the first thing that your customers will see. If you do not get their attention with the front page, you will never get it. Without a good, attention grabbing front page, your brochures are worthless. Make sure that you include something on the front page that will entice your customers to look more closely. Things that often work include offers, statistics, or free advice.

Product Features
While it is important to show what you are trying to convey, instead of telling, you still need to describe some of the features that your products have. Tell your customers why your products are desirable and why your products are better than your competitors?.

Useful Information is a Huge Bonus
If you can find a way to include information that will be useful to your readers, they will value your brochures much more. Give them something that they can use in their home lives, and they might even keep your brochure around for future reference. What better advertisement is there than a brochure that your customers look at regularly for a long period of time?

Try to write a short, brochure sized article that will give your readers some useful information. Write something that relates to your products, but also give advice. For instance, if you own a restaurant, you could include an article about food preparation in your brochures. Or, you can include some tasty recipes for your readers to produce at home. These are the types of things that will make your readers value your brochures for a long time.
