Is it the same feeling you get when you aren't able to have your coffee in the morning before you leave for work or school or anywhere for that matter? If your answer is "YES," then it is certified: you my friend are a coffee addict!
But don't you worry young coffee junkie, for you are not alone. You are but a speckle in the vast ocean of coffee addicts all around the world. They too have been called to be forever in the hunt of the ultimate coffee experience.
Like you and me, these people have been inflicted by a taste so good, so unforgettable that living without can mean fate worse than death. To be addicted to coffee is to never get away from the taste, the smell, and the full-bodied flavor of caffeine.
A different kind of coffee
Traditionalist, purist, and coffee enthusiasts all around the world have become more and more demanding over the recent years. These people have begun seeking other forms of enjoyment that they can get from their usual cup of coffee.
That was the driving force behind the revolutionary leap that the brewing of coffee made. Since time immemorial, man has been serving coffee hot. Few people would actually drink coffee that has been blown over by the passing breeze. Hot coffee was the standard of coffee drinking everywhere.
Because of man's insatiability for many things (coffee included), he constantly experiments and researches for different things that might make his existence more meaningful and as some would have it, exciting. Not far from this influence is the way coffee is served.
Before as mentioned coffee was always hot, cold coffee was considered an insult to the coffee itself and people took pride in their brew. Nowadays, coffee can be seen sold to hundreds if not thousands by the day in tumblers that are filled with beads of condensation. Nowadays, coffee is best served cold.
Eventhough the new standard in coffee drinking has been changed one thing still remains the same, people still have a hard time starting their day without coffee. People still have a hard time relaxing after a hard days work. Some of the standards may change, people may change, but some things will always be constant no matter what. People may put ice, people may put spices but coffee will always be coffee and to change that will be more than impossible. So coffee addicts need not be afraid for they will have coffee forever.
Many people take drinks that are out of their league by either being too strong or too hot; this can be a problem particularly when you are drinking your coffee in a paper cup. If you feel that the coffee that's in your hands is too hot for you there are a couple of tactics you can take which will lead you to a variety of different ends. You should always exert great care and consideration when you are handling hot coffee and sometimes the best thing that you can do to save yourself is to just drop it.
Handling Hot Coffee Tips
One way to avoid dropping your coffee is to not pick it up if it is too hot in the first place. You have a number of options which can help you to this end including the ginger handling of the coffee when you first pick it up. If you notice that the coffee appears too hot when you pour it into your cup and you feel that the sleeve on your cup or lack thereof will make the cup unable to be handled then you should certinly do a couple of things.
Cool it off. If you have the time or the inclination then you should just do the wise thing and let your coffee cool. You can let it cool by air exposure, taking the lid off, adding milk or even adding an ice cube if that's what needs to be done. If you are in a hurry the best thing you can do is just dump a little bit out of the top and that will make the whole of the coffee cool down very quickly.
Hold Your Coffee Low and Pour
If you don't have the time to wait for an air dry and you don't have the resources for an ice cube or you have got no interest in adding milk to your java, then you should just do the latter and dump a little bit out. If you still are not interested in doing that then you can always just try and brave it as you let the coffee cool as you sip it. You should remember to hold the cup low to the ground as the higher up it is the greater the chance it can spill on you or someone else as you're hurrying along to your destination. If you feel like you are unable to handle the coffee anymore then you can try to just skim a little off the top by sending some overboard and that way you won't have to lose the entire cup.
