Nokia N80: Do It All.
by Carly Charu, Car
The Nokia N80 is one of the very few handset that can do virtually everything possible for a mobile phone. The handset is a very important member of the N-series, coming in as a mid ranged device of this family of mobile multi media computers. The Nokia N80 is essentially a smartphone just like all members of the N series, based on S60 platform (third edition) and operates on Symbian operating system. One can, therefore, install third party application to the phone. However, with a feature list as vast as the Nokia N80, it is unlikely that one would actually have the need to do so.

Built wise, the Nokia N80 is a slider phone in a chic colour combination of silver and black. The handset is a bit on the bulkier side, measuring 95 x 50 x 26 mm, and weighing 134 grams – typical dimension for a high performing smart phone. The handset sports a large TFT based screen that can produce more than 262k colours. The display is armed with a light sensor so that optimum viewing experience is maintained irrespective of the external lighting conditions. On the right hand top corner of the display, one would find a VGA camera, incorporated to aid video calls across UMTS networks.

The Nokia N80is one of the first mobile phone that have broken the 3 megapixel barrier. Its superior camera module is well complimented with premium tools for unparalleled mobile imaging experience. From lens crafted by world renowned Carl Zeiss optics to functions like zoom and LED flashlight – the Nokia N80 represents the very best of digital photography in a mobile phone. Apart from 3G network, this communication powerhouse supports all four GSM mobile networks to provide impeccable voice coverage in almost all corners of the world. In absence of 3G, one can use its GPRS and EDGE technology for fast data connectivity. Internet access through WiFi hotspots is possible too. Local form of data connectivity tools includes Bluetooth v1.2, Infra red and USB v2.0.
