Catrese Green, MBA launches Web Log to Empower Women.
East Carolina University MBA and self proclaimed “Jack of All Trades" Catrese Green, has launched a web log (or Blog) that enables women of all ages to find relevant information about health, wealth and relationships. The blog, found at http://becomeasavvygirl.blogspot.com on the World Wide Web, provides the opportunity for open discussion and offers its readers links to useful resources.
The blog provides advice and resources about wealth building, (including improving credit scores, buying a home, etc.) improving women’s health with a focus on weight management and having good romantic relationships. It also allows women to share their own opinions and experiences with the author as well as other readers in order to enrich the community environment. In a sense, the blog offers one stop shopping for women’s issues.
Unlike many other blogs, this blog not only offers links to other resources, it provides helpful content and links to even more invaluable resources. The frequently updated blog also provides a list of books that its readers should have in their libraries to further enrich their lives. It is the only blog that guarantees an answer from the author if a woman needs information or advice on a certain topic.
Catrese Green, author and mediator of the blog, said she compiled the blog to offer information and advice to women that they may not be able to find elsewhere. She says that people have been coming to her for advice since she can remember. “They come to me because they know my history. They know that I have worked in about 20 different industries. They know that I have had weight and health issues. They know that I have had relationships with all types of men. So, they know that whatever they are going through, I have been there and I know how to get through it," Green said.
Green explained that from the comfort of their bedrooms, living rooms, work or wherever they have computer access; women can read the posts, make comments and share their own issues with others who have similar experiences. Whether a woman needs advice on a certain topic, needs an outlet for stress or just enjoys reading the posts, she is welcome in this community.
Being that the blog is only a couple of weeks old, the author is hoping to expand the readership of the blog but believes that it will soon be a community full of women on the path to becoming Savvy Girls.
