If you have been doing any type of marketing for even a short period of time, you most likely have heard about this fundamental marketing principle. It sounds like “if you are trying to sell everything to everybody means you are selling nothing to nobody". This is the most important principle of targeted marketing. Another very important fact about marketing is that it takes an average consumer to see or hear an advertisement about seven times before they decide to buy advertised product or service.

This two principles combine and cooperate very well when you start working on your auto-responder. Remember that you have to have a very interested, targeted group of subscribers (instead of trying to sell your product or service to virtually everybody). And also remember that you have to send out about seven follow up messages before your average subscriber decides to buy your product or service.

Another important statistical fact is that about seventy percent of email users in the US do make a purchase online after they receive and read opt-in email messages.

All of the above makes perfect sense when you create your own auto-responder. You set it up with aweber (this one is being liked by a good number of successful online marketers) or any other similar service that you like. Then you create your squeeze page with an opt-in function on it. Of course you offer something valuable for free to your subscribers when you ask them for their email address. Be very careful and do not spam!

After your list starts to fill in, you send out your pre-written emails and develop good, trustful relationships with your subscribers. Do not forget to send them updates and valuable free reports. In between, make sure you actually start selling something offering them your products or services for monetary reward. This is how you monetize your opt-in list. And that is why auto-responder is a must for you if you are serious about making a full time income online.
