Discover Your Prospects Mindset About Starting A Home Based Business
by Richard Van Beek, Ric
But why are all these people I am talking to so full of fear and worrieness about starting a home based business? I mean, they opted in for some of my businesses, I call them back, because I love talking to people about their interests and why they gave me their name and number to receive more information for something I have.

It's all about FEAR. False Expectations Appearing Real.

Fear of being scammed... Fear of doing things different... Fear of the unknown... Fear of failing... Fear of getting more into debt... Fear of the recession... And this list can go on...

It all starts with fear and after the word fear most of the time you'll see a word with negativity (scammed, failing, debt...). Do I think they will be successfull when they stay in these fears? Nope, they stay for 3 months and another one is born in the failure rate of 95%.

And if I talk to those people about my business, I can show them how much money I make, I can show them my computer screen with another $10.000 this week, but is that really actually helping my prospect? Maybe only the opportunity seeker prospect, but they usually don't stay that long, because another great opportunity is born every month. The real starter will feel even more fear and I know that sounds stupid, but it is.

Now, is there a solution? Sometimes, not always. The last thing that I want right now is giving them another fear, so I always listen first, then talking a little about myself and try to find out what their fears are. The largest group of prospects nowadays are people who want to start a home business online to supplement their income. They don't know anything about online marketing. You think they fear something? You bet they are.

So, first listen to them, try to temper their fears and show them confidence and credibility in the products you market. Be honest about the startup costs and the monthly fees. Take the pressure away for the 'quick rich' mentality by explaining them first to get aquainted with the company, the product or service and last but not least with me. After all, you are trying to build a good team around you for more leverage and more income.
