[C339]Cell Phone Plans For Seniors
by Aaron Siegel, Aar
With the cell phone being used so much, finding a good cell phone plan is an important issue; stick to plans that provide just what you require within your preset budget. There is such an abundance of services available nationally that you need to research what types of plans are available; it is not uncommon for customers to be tied to a contract for longer than they require.

However, when you arrange a cell phone plan, you may need to choose from a by minute charging or by the second charging. Knowing the two options should help you decide whether your phone use is such that you would be better served with a monthly option that allowed for a certain number of free minutes.

Just to confuse you, more packages that are designed for your geographic location are available in addition to those based on families. Unfortunately, they all have good and bad points so look at the small print carefully.

For prepaid cellular phones, the functionality is often limited so the phone and service you choose may not be able to do everything a similar phone can do when paid for monthly. Plans like those designed for small businesses and families have specific advantages if you are in that type of category.

The family plans also give a call discount when you call other members of your family that are on the same cellular phone bill. There are also discounts for the airtime usage of family members using this particular scheme.

The national cell phone plan usually attracts large businesses and organizations with offices and operatives Nationwide. Roaming charges on this type of plan are usually included as part of the agreement and anyone that travels around the country will see the obvious benefits of this type of scheme.

For regional use, this type of plan may require you to pay long-distance charges but the airtime rates may be cheaper. Although most individuals prefer the prepaid option, this is not always the best cell phone plan option for travelers and business people.

Going for the most feature rich plan can cause some problems for your finances so you might want to consider toning down your usage options. While made for calling, phones can now be used for a lot more and cause you to unnecessarily rely on more functions at a higher price.

Are you really needing to browse the Internet over a small screen? Will you really need to reply to emails while driving? Ask yourself those questions before dedicating yourself to a long term plan with added features.

Use some common sense and make sure your relaxed and have the time to read all the terms and conditions of each added feature to your cell phone plan to make sure you are not going to be hurt financially by your calling plan.

One last thing to remember is it is not healthy being at everyone's beck and call as it can cause stress and resentment, so don't leave your cell phone switched on 24 hours a day.

People have come to appreciate and realize the benefit of being able to communicate wireless from almost anywhere in the world where there is a communication tower. And now, many of the international phones link directly to satellites so you do not need the communication towers.

It seems that there are dozens of companies that have a cell phone plan that you can purchase. The ads are on television, radio, bus signs. and even billboards. But the most important advertisement is the people walking around using them. So, you now want to get your own cell phone plan but do not know where to start. There is so much information that you are confused. Every company is telling you that they provide the best service, most minutes and least dropped calls than their competitors - but who can you believe?

The easiest way to figure this out is to go to your local mall and stop into each store that sells cell phone plans. Get their representative to provide you with an overview of the products and services and to explain each of the benefits you would receive if you signed a contract with them. Give them time to run a network check to ensure that their cell phone plan works in your area and have them demonstrate the different features on any phone you are interested in purchasing.

Now, do this for each of the major carriers and make sure you get written information on each company's products, guarantees, cancellation policy, and overall services. It is easy to be told something in a store, but a few months later if you encounter a problem, you want to be able to work with someone to resolve it.

The cell phone plans are similar and include a single line, a family share program, your favorite 5 option and many others. The companies are constantly coming up with new promotions to try to get you to purchase a contract from them.

There are several basic telephones that most companies carry and they do the same things. Each product has several different accessories you can purchase to make your life easier. These include a car charger, extra carrying case, headsets, face plates, Bluetooth capability, extra battery pack and many others.
There are even prepaid cell phones. These offer the user the option of paying 'up front' each month for their services. When they use up all of the prepaid money, the phone will no longer work until more money is sent. This can be good if you have a young adult and you want to curtail their minutes.

If you are still not sure what company or cell phone plan you want, ask your friends and coworkers. Almost everyone has a cell phone plan and you will hear both the good and bad for each from unbiased consumers.
