Cellular phones or the more convenient term known as cell phones have come a long way since they were first introduced. Do you remember? The big bulky bricks that were the first working, publically available cell phones back in the day. Yes, those are the ones I'm talking about. They have changed drastically since the last couple decades to make them much even more convenient. Can you imagine now if someone was carrying a brick around with them?
There are many different cellular phone providers out there for you to choose from. From T-mobile, AT&T Cingular, Boost Mobile, Verizon Wireless, and Nextel being the biggest cell phone service carriers in the United States you can choose the one that is best suitable for you and your needs.
Cell phones are convenient. That is the basic most known fact that everyone can agree on. You can call anyone or receive a call from anyone from just about any location that is booming with civilization. Also cell phones are not just for calling people. You can use it to send text message, or even instant messaging. You can also send e-mails, videos, to even pictures to family and friends. When something happens you can use it to call someone to tell them the important news.
From the different providers, each plan that they have has different advantages and disadvantages. Ones that make you sign a contract can give you a much better discount but it also requires you to be with that company for a few years which is usually two years and if you choose to cancel your subscription early they will charge you a termination fee which is pretty expensive.
Another thing you might want to look at before getting a cell phone is the actual phone itself. There are hundreds and hundreds of different cell phone models made by different companies. Each phone has its own advantages and disadvantages as they are useful to different kinds of people. Children who still go to grade school do not need a blackberry or basically any phone with a full QWERTY keyboard because they do not have any reason to use it unlike a business man who works for some big company and where communication is what the business is all about.
Phones for children should be simple and the most complex thing about it should be sending text messages. Phones for people whose job is all about communication may need something a bit more advanced such as a Blackberry or the highly famed iPhone by Apple. You can use it to surf the web, check your email, send files and even send commands to a computer all from the palm of your hand while it still does the basics as sending pictures and text message over the network.
Phones are also coming packaged together with mega-pixel cameras and other neat tools such as an MP3 player, blue tooth accessibility and many other hi-tech gimmicks that can make it a lot more convenient for the owner.
Cell phones are becoming a part of our social lives and anyone without one is seriously making their lives a bit more inconvenient than the rest of ours.
Almost everyone I know is into mobile technology these days. The use of personal multimedia players, ultra-light digital cameras and cellular phones, to name only a few, have never been more widespread until now. People just love functional devices that they can bring anywhere with them. Whether you use it for business or for pleasure, buying and using mobile technology is really on the rise and will continue to grow for years or even decades to come.
When you go online, chances are good that one of the top five websites you'll see will be featuring at least one of the hundreds of mobile gadgets that are currently the ?in thing?. Not only that, but a lot of advertising is being made and viewed online for products that are only in the conceptual stages, not only for those that are already available. Mobile technology is indeed big business, and there is practically no end in sight.
Although there are hundreds of gadgets that can be used for almost any function, I personally find the cellular phone to be the most useful and the most practical. Needless to say, I carry it around everywhere I go. My cellular phone has practically become an essential part of my life both in and out of the office ever since I bought my first one five years ago. To date, I have had six cellular phones, and I don't see any reason why I shouldn't trade in my latest model for another, if the features and the functionality fit my lifestyle.
From teenagers to old-timers, almost everyone's got a cellular phone. I even see children begging their parents for one! Lots of people get one for lots of reasons. Some might get one because it's the latest thing, while others get a mobile phone because they ned it for their work. There are always new features to be found on the latest models, so it seems that there's always a good reason to have your own cellular phone.
No matter how many MP3s or videos it can play, a cellular phone will always be used to communicate. Yes, there are already Blackberries, PDAs, and whatnot, but the cellular phone will still be the main tool for keeping in touch with your friends and family. In fact, a lot of new gadgets are being created with the purpose of merging the functionality of the common mobile phone with the entertainment features of digital audio and video players.
But just because the cellular phone is a serious communication tool doesn't mean that it cannot be accessorized. There are many accessories available online and elsewhere which you can use to customize your mobile phone. Teenagers are usually the main proponents of this trend, but adults have been picking up on it as well.
