Steroid Effects
by Gen Wright, Gen
The topic of steroid effects has always been of interest among a vast majority of the population. The debate has attracted the due attention of researchers and scientists. Recently there has been an increasing realization that steroid effects especially the anabolic steroids can cause irreparable damage to the body and the mind. The most common steroid effect in the body, it is observed, is the inhibition of natural hormones. Simply put, the addition of a hormone into the body sends the signal to the endocrine system to inhibit its production further. Regular use of steroids causes an irreparable damage to the liver, which normally functions as the body's filtration system.

Steroids raise LDL cholesterol and lower the HDL cholesterol. While some steroids are notably harsh on blood lipids, others are mild. The association between baldness and steroid effects has been proved beyond doubt now. Men having a genetic predisposition towards baldness actually respond quickly to regular steroid use. Because of the steroid effects on blood lipids, anabolic steroids are also linked with cardiovascular problems. There is ample research to prove that regular steroid use results in the enlargement of ventricles. Closely associated with this is the raised blood pressure which is a common effect of regular steroid use. Virilization and steroid effects have often been linked by scientists and researchers worldwide. Some common symptoms could be deepening of the voice, excess of body hair growth, clitoral enlargement and possible male pattern baldness.

Steroid use has also been linked with reduced growth potential of people who are still in the growth stage. In males, steroids use can result in prostrate enlargement. However, the link between steroid use and prostrate cancer is yet to be established. Steroid effects have also been associated with renal disorders and failures. Regular steroid users have often noticed dark urine, indicating that their kidneys work harder because of this foreign substance in their body. Steroid effects have also resulted in sterility problems both in males and females. In men steroids lead to the lowering of follicle stimulating hormone to a point where normal sperm production is not possible. There is large body of literature to prove that steroids can modulate the immune system of the body. As with most potential steroid effects, the change in overall immune system is again largely dose and compound dependent. Different doses and combination have different effects on the body.

Now that you have found out the negative side effects of steroids you're probably asking is there an alternative? Absolutely, today pro bodybuilders and athletes have turned to legal steroids. Legal steroids are 100% safe and have no side effects. They give you the same benefits as the really thing with the cost and dangerous effects.
