Tips To Help Your Wedding Run Smoothly
by Aaron Y. Hu, Aar

The big day is almost here and God and the rest of the world are watching. Maybe not that many people, but as the wedding looms on the horizon it will seem like it. The planning is done, right down to the smallest wedding favors and now that you have decided on those unique wedding favors it is time for the final countdown. It's time to make a list. It will make things much easier. Here is an example, mostly in order, of the last minute things to be done to help make sure nothing falls between the cracks.

It is time to get that final hair cut and coloring. Like the condemns last meal, you want it to be right. You will want that done a week or so before the wedding, that way it still looks freshly cut but long enough that there is time to fix it if something goes wrong at the shop. While you wait for your appointment you can get start on the driving directions from the hotel to the church and reception for the out of town guest and basic directions for those who live in town. You have put too much effort into this for people to get lost.

Like a fine ballet, a smooth wedding needs great timing. It is time to be thinking of that now. Soon you will be making the last minute confirmations with your vendors, caterers and such so you need a timeline so that everybody knows where to be and when, even your guest. When you are making those conformation calls it is also the last chance to make sure everything is clear. You can make sure there are no last minute questions and confirm that they know where to be, when to be, and what to have.

It is also time to call the most important vendor of them all, your photographer. You only get one chance to have pictures taken that will last a lifetime so it is extremely important that things are all clear between you and your photographer. That same day you can go ahead and call your caterer with the final guest count. They are going to need to know how much food to prepare.

Now it is time to get some of this weight off your shoulders. It's time to write the checks for the vendors so they will be ready on the wedding day so nobody has to scramble around to write a check and go ahead and delegate people to run point on different areas. Many hands make light work and you have enough stress as it is. Besides, you cannot be everywhere at once. This should give you some space for a little “me time.” Treat yourself to a little spa treatment to unwind and help you look nice and refreshed for the wedding.

The hoards are about to start arriving soon so get together those little gift baskets and get them off to the hotel because now it is time for the fun part, it's time to pack for the honeymoon! Now this list is far from complete but hopefully it will steer you in the right direction. Every wedding is unique so everybody's list will be different but you do need one. After all, how can you keep up with all this?
