I grew up in a small town located in south Florida. During certain months, it seemed as if it would rain for weeks at a time. After awhile, I grew used to the rainy seasons and learnt how to deal with them. I was an individual who really enjoyed the outdoors. The truth is that I liked sports of all types. I liked football, soccer, tennis, basketball, climbing trees and running. Unfortunately, when it was raining, I was not able to go outside and do any of the things I liked to do. When it was raining outside, I was limited to doing the things inside. The truth is, I did not like the inside too much, although, the inside of the house had really pretty carpet and it was really nice to lay on and listen to the rain outside.

The carpet was soft and cozy, this may seem weird to you, but it is true. I remember when it flooded in the house. It seems this flood that happened in the house was the worst disaster ever. We tell you it was a bad disaster simply because we had wet carpet. The carpet I once enjoyed laying on, listening to the rain outside had now been through flood damage, and that was not a pretty site. If you have never been through a flood before and have never received wet carpet, then you may not know how this can look. However, if you have been through flood damage before and have seen wet carpet, then you know what a disaster this can be.

The truth is, I liked the outside, but I also enjoyed the carpet. The carpet is where I would lay for hours listening to the rain outside and reading a book. When we got wet carpet, I was no longer able to lay on it. My parents tried to dry the carpet as much as they could but it did not seem to work. Perhaps this is because my parents did not go down the proper measures of drying wet carpet. When it comes to drying wet carpet, you should know what to do and what not to do.

When my parents discovered their wet carpet, they immediately broke out with the space heater in order to try to dry it up. This means they made the room really hot where the carpet was. Now that I look on it, I see that this only made the wet carpet worse. The heat that was coming out of the space heater made the carpet start forming mold. My parents did not realize this would happen. Normally, people would use heat to dry something but this was not the case with that carpet. Eventually, my parents decided to call the carpet specialist. When the carpet specialist came to our house, he told my parents that it would be best if they replaced the carpet completely. Not only did the have to replace the wet carpet, but they also had to replace the padding that was under the wet carpet.
