What Happens When The Oil Has Finished?
by Musa Aykac, Mus
We don't want to hear it, especially now with the oil prices at an all time high and panic is set among the whole world. But what will happen when the oil does eventually finish? Will it bring us back to traditional ways of living? Or will it cause uncontrollable wars? Well I set out to find an alternative, and a way to produce oil and have stumbled across a pretty amazing invention, or as you may put it as an idea.

In America a pretty intelligent inventor, has come to plans with a machine that can generate oil from almost anything. For example I myself if processed could be turned into around 60 pounds of crude oil, and the rest flammable gas and high quality mineral fertilizer.

But the actual inventor is not actually looking for people and animals to process, that would be pretty inhumane. Instead he is after trash, the thermo-depolymerisation process works on most carbon substances. You could in fact use tires or chicken entrails, to create the amount of oil required.

You may think that this is just another wacky invention, which will never hit the market. But it already seems to be gaining a lot of momentum, a company called Changing World Technologies has actually already built the device, it produces around 500 barrels a day of oil and is likely to double its figures in the coming years.

You may think to yourself how anyone can possibly create oil? It's a natural process. But as technology advances, we can do things that never used to be possible. The oil creating technique is actually not a hard one to comprehend. The earth has been doing it for millions of years by heating, cooling and processing rotten plants, fossils and animals. The invention just uses this method and instead of evolving and waiting with time, it actually produces results within a day.

So with technology at its all time peak, we should take advantage of this type of nature and conquer the falling amounts of oil. No one wants to be paying two pounds for a litre of fuel or a fortune for central heating. So instead of panicking about oil levels we should instead take nature into our hands and develop the kind of equipment that will help the world. But keeping in mind to make it as environmentally friendly and nature preserved as possible.
