The smallest self inking stamp is only 10x10mm, but a more common size is the 12x12mm (1/2") circle self inking stamp. Other shape stamps have small sizes also. For example, you can order the smallest self inking stamp available in a rectangular shape and it will run as small as 28x10mm (apx. 1.1"x.39") with 3 lines of text, and approximately 25.4mmx15.8mm (1-5/8"x5/8") in a pocket size.
In an oval shape, size will be 54x34mm (apx. 2.1"x1.3") and fits up to 6 lines of text. In square stamps, 30x30mm (apx. 1.18"x1.18") that holds up to 6 lines of text. However, when it comes to small, the circle self inking stamp is the winner, just because of it's shape.
Self inking stamps are a real advance over the older styles that require a stamping pad that you refill with ink as needed. With the self inking stamps, you have less mess, less chance to spill during refills. The self inking stamps have their own pre-inked pad that lasts a very long time before it needs refilling.
New designs include a double sided self inking pad that allows either double the ink of one color, or even two colors. The colors are separated by a center film so they do not mix. This is nice if you need to have the same stamp but in red and black inks, for example.
The smallest self inking stamp with changeable numbers is 1/16x7/16" (apx. 1.58mmx11.11mm) , and comes with a changeable four band number. Another small self inking dater stamp features 6 changeable number bands and has a number height of just .125" (3.175mm). You can order self inking number (or date) stamps with automatic or manual advance on the number sequences.
These small self inking stamps are ideal for little jobs, and dates. They are nice for use in a school situation, where the teacher wants a small stamp to use as a reward for good work. A star imprint looks great on a child's good paperwork, and makes the child feel good as well.
Ink colors come in standard black and red, and in green, blue, and violet, and the housing colors will vary with manufacturer. The best thing about the smallest self inking stamp is that it is self contained. All you need is in that small package, designed to fit easily into your hand, or pocket or desk drawer.
