NLP Hypnosis: The Combination Of NLP And Hypnosis
by Joel Chue.., Joe
On the surface, NLP and hypnosis are very similar in many ways but when you dwell into the two subject matter with more depth, you will find that both of these topics are involves two different concepts entirely. Neuro -Linguistic Programming (NLP) is a scientific method used by many psychotherapists to modify behavioral patterns. It is a widely adopted methodology within the field of psychology.
Although NLP has been widely adopted within the medical field, its usages have also spread to the commercial sectors especially within the scope of human resources training. Many training experts nowadays use NLP to reinforce their training methodologies. This is to improve the quality of their training during their training sessions, workshops and seminars. By doing so, the trainers have a higher success rate in affecting positive behavioral changes with their participants.
Hypnosis takes on a different approach in respect to behavioral patterns changes. It is quite an unconventional method used but gaining in popularity in recent times. Hypnosis works by affecting the mind on a subconscious level. When an individual is put into a trance, His mind become more receptive to suggestions made by the hypnotist. Hypnosis have long been regarded as a mystic art practiced by mystic. It is only recently that the status of hypnosis has risen slowly to becoming a science adopting scientific and objective approaches. Research has also show that hypnosis is a daily and common occurrence. We actually drift in and out of trances without realizing it especially in front of the television.
Many experts have questioned whether these two concepts can be merged together and if the answer is yes what would be the impact and significances of such the merger. Trails have shown that such a merger of concepts and techniques is possible and this has lead to better control over the disseminations of both knowledge and skills especially within the realm of human resources training. Nowadays many training seminars adopted such approaches to achieve maximum impact during their training sessions. When we combine both approaches, we actually are dealing with both the conscious and subconscious mind thus giving the trainers better control over the whole training sessions. The results of these combinations have so far being positive.
Hypnosis unlike NLP, motivate a person to act out in a certain way and made to recall memories that are buried deep inside our mind. It acts more on the subconscious mind.
It is important that when you are planning a workshop using these techniques to consider only hiring professional who are experts in this area. Hypnosis involves dealing with a person's sub conscious mind and as such is extremely delicate matter to handle. This may call for more investment and research on your part but for the good of the participants, it is an ethical thing to do.
