Poor diet will always be looked upon as one of the main reasons why people are overweight. Diet gives you energy, controls your emotion and your size. In effect, controls your body.
We often look at diet as a means to deprive ourselves of nourishment, but it need not be so hard.
* Always look at your fruits and vegetables. It is too simple to say that they are good for you, but that point must be reaffirmed every time. EAT MORE FRUIT AND VEGETABLES! But as usual, there is a proviso - too much fruit = too much sugar.
This means fruit diets may not be as healthy as you think. Fruit contains sugar and eating too much sugar is a big no no. Again, don't overdo the fruit and veggies, but they are essential to your diet.
* Stop the extra portions after dinner like the cookies, pies, ice cream. Again, you probably know this is not helping your diet, but it must be said over and over again. STOP WITH THE SNACKING AFTER MEALS!
Cut down your oils and fats consumption, and consume more healthier oils such as olive oil. Then reduce your sweets intake. Nothing too drastic, start by reducing by half and work from there.
* Reduce Carbohydrates - this is the main energy source for your body. The body first consumes carbohydrates then the fats, and finally the proteins when supplying us with energy.
If you don't use all of the calories up, then you will have excess calories, hence excess fat. . So the rule is to eat less carbohydrates - try to keep them at 60% of you calorie intake. Don't let them turn up in vast amounts.
