Some Truths About Acne Myths.
by S.f. Imtiaz, S.f
There are few things that you should be careful about if you have acne. Many people believe that washing your face again and again several times through the day will help you get rid of acne, this is not true, all it will do is irritate your skin. These types of misnomer are known as acne myths which are totally against the truth about the matter. For example in this particular case, a better practice is to wash your face only twice during the day, always use warm water and a soap or cleanser that is specially made for acne sufferers, you can use Thylox Soap or Neutrogena Acne Soap, this will contribute a lot in getting rid of acne.
If you have acne first thing you want to make sure is that you are not treating your acne based upon some myths. If you are aware of myths related with acne and if you can separate the acne treatment myths from the truths then consider a substantial portion of you problem solved. Many people cannot differentiate between what is truth and what's just another acne myth, so they end up wasting a lot of their time and money on products and medications that either don't work at all or are not good for their particular skin type. Thus, sometimes these acne medications can even aggravate your skin condition.
Most of the acne sufferers have a terrible habit and that is popping and squeezing their pimples, it is impossible to get rid of acne if you cannot get rid of this habit, so the first thing is stop popping your pimples, stop squeezing them and better yet stop touching them except when you have to apply some cream or any other medication on them.
Another myth about acne is that getting a facial would make your skin better, getting a facial does not help and it does not make your skin clean, instead it irritates your skin and cause more pimples. One more thing that many acne sufferers are usually worried about is diet, a lot of people believe that diet does not affect your skin condition at all. Although it is not proven but many skin specialists believe that your diet has a lot of affect on the health your skin, a better way to know if it is true or false is to check if a particular type of diet is causing any variation in your skin condition and if it does then control your diet based on that observation.
Remember that there is no quick way to get rid of acne. Any medication or acne treatment that you are using would require sometime, so give it a little time, ask your dermatologist how much time a particular medication normally takes to show its affects and then if it does not show any affects in that time period than look for a new medication explain your experience with previous medication to your dermatologist and your dermatologist might provide you with a better solution. If you wear makeup, choose it wisely, always read the label for non-comedogenic and non-acnegenic signs. Use oil free makeup products, since oil based makeup products have a high propensity to irritate your skin. Avoid the use of other oil based products too such as cleanser or moisturizer.
