The Gulf Islands are home to Pender Island, which is really North Pender and South Pender. Across the Straight of Georgia is the mainland and the city of Vancouver. To the west Is Vancouver Island, and Victoria, B.C.

Many people are realizing that the Pender Islands with it's extremely moderate temperature is "the" place to get married. With the sunny skies and low levels of rain making it the perfect place for this once in a live-time experience. South Pender has swimming and picnic sites at Mortimer Spit and Hamilton Beach. There are over 20 ocean accesses to beaches on the Island of Hidden Coves.

Hikers can enjoy trails from novice to experienced, with an advanced climb to get to the view point on Mount Norman on South Pender that is well worth the time. The view from this point can only be explained as unbelievable! The Parks and Recreation Commission has opened more trails and beach accesses for you to enjoy.

Local produce, arts and crafts can be purchased from the roadside stands that still are in existence along the quite country side roads. It's like stepping back in time.

Visitors arriving from outside Canada can clear customs at Bedwell Harbour, May through September. The main transportation to Pender Islands is BC Ferries which has service from Victoria, BC and Vancouver, BC. There are also charter air services that service the Pender Islands.

Accommodation on Pender Island include Poet's Cove Resort, The Inn on Pender and numerous Bed & Breakfast Inns. There are also camping sites available at the Provincial camp grounds. Reservations should be confirmed during the high traffic summer months.
