The Nasty Competition Between Fashion Handbag Designers
by Ben Needles, Ben
Not all is gold and glamour in the fashion business. As a matter-of-fact, the competition in this industry is gut-wrenching and dog-eat-dog. Petty differences and huge egos make for a highly competitive and cut-throat industry, much of which the general public never hears about. Fashions and designer handbags and purses are synonymous with words and phrases such as jealousy, overbearing, over-the-top, and heated competition. Much of the competition has to do with the humongous money flow within the industry. Secrets abound and frequent brand spying on the competition is said to be widely recognized though very covered up outside of the fashion industry. So, what kinds of gossip and pot stirring goes on in the fashion shop? This article will take a look at some of the he said, she said material that is typical of this aggressive, competitive and rivalrous fashion industry.

In the latest Givenchy gossip, it appears that Hubert de Givenchy is accusing the Givenchy company of what he calls, doing junk. There is no known elaboration of his claim, other than his own opinion. It would appear that he is not happy with the products that the company has been turning out as of recent. Further comments reveal that he believes that the fashion industry is no longer in the business of making women appear beautiful but rather in making (hand)bags and shoes that are more and more ugly.

Could it be that Bill Blass is in trouble? According to a recent press release after the resignation of the brands designer, Michael Vollbracht, it was claimed that Vollbracht made the statement that, when making big handbags is the only thing that will save your business, then designing clothes is finished. Insider forewarning? What do you think?

Speaking of competition, with so many designer bags out there and so much competition and counterfeiting, a girl can get very confused and leery of purchasing any particular handbag. No one wants to get taken to the cleaners for a purse, right? Well, there is no reason for that to happen. Handbags and purses can now be rented so you do not have to buy an expensive bag just to look chic at your next social outing. No, you can actually rent a genuine Gucci, Prada, Fendi, Coach or any other brand name bag that your heart desires. The nice thing is, they are just not that expensive. So, if you have got several social parties in your schedule, why not rent a bag for one and then rent another bag for the next one. No one will know you have rented them and they will think you are so fashionable and chic, not to mention loaded. Check out our article about renting handbags, on the home site.

Everyone knows that the global fashion competition is intense but its rather difficult to intercept the insider information because the industry does not like for personal rivalries to get out to the public. It is not often good for the image. It is usually a maverick designer or a disgruntled high end employee who leaks the gossipy info to the news rags. Do not believe all you hear but watch for signs of truth once you hear it. It makes for good entertainment and gives you something to talk about.
