There is no shortage of fun activities outside the city, as well. Drive up to the local mountains for skiing, snowboarding, sledding and hiking. Plan a kayak trip through the Puget Sound or take a ferry ride to Bainbridge Island, just across from Seattle. There are plenty of interesting islands to visit; in fact island hopping can be a vacation in itself. Most of these quaint islands are accessible by ferry boat. Outside of Seattle, there are a number of interesting attractions. For skiers and snowboarders, the slopes at Snoqualmie Pass, Stevens Pass, Crystal Mountain and other resorts are a popular activity.
