by Anita Barbaric, Ani
Hvar is a croatian island on the Adriatic sea located between Split and Dubrovnik.Hvar is considered as the longest island in Croatia. The island is about 68 km long and 4-11 km wide. It has a size of about 325 sq km. The highest mountains of the island are located in the southwest like the mountains:Sveti Nikola (626 meters) and Hum (603 meters). The won oil is mostly used for the manufacture of perfume, but there are also many other potential applications (healing of wounds, destruction of insects, etc.). Throughout Dalmatia you can buy small bags with the famous lavender on streets.
