A Natural Extension Of Your Home Outdoors
by Bob George, Bob
Can you imagine when spring finally sets in? You can already smell the spring flowers and hear the birds that have finally come back to nest. It has been a long winter and although you have been able to clean up and prepare your garden it has not been warm enough to truly work and enjoy it. But what about your garden furniture? Some people spend a lot of time working on their gardens and greenery but forget about getting some long lasting and beautiful furniture to help enjoy their space. Don't settle for plastic and wrought iron again this year when you can have true beauty and style with tropical hardwood furniture.
Many people think that wood will wear out in just a season or two and opt to purchase plastic or iron. And while both are easier to find and can be cheaper, neither can compare to the longevity and durability of the right wood like balau or teak. Just imagine a set of teak benches around your peaceful pond. Not only can you expect them to last at least 50 years with the right care, but they will add a touch of elegance and comfort that no other type of furniture can provide. Furthermore, when you have a garden or outside area that will get a lot of use you will want to make sure it will not have to be replaced every other year.
Many times people do not entertain outside their homes because they are not set up with the right garden furniture. Not only does plastic have a tendency to break easily when someone sits down, but they are not very comfortable. However, with the right garden patio set you will be able to entertain many people outside. And not only will they be comfortable while they relax and enjoy their meal, but you will be able to finally show off the fruits of your labor with your garden.
Just don't forget that even though such woods as balau and teak are made for outdoor wear, they will still need to be properly cleaned and kept. For example, when you use your patio dining sets on a regular basis you will want to make sure you use warm soapy water to clean them with. All too often people use regular furniture polish that will actually make your outdoor sets become bleached more easily in the sun. Furthermore, at least twice a year you should apply a special outdoor sealer to your pieces.
And finally, when you are looking to purchase the right garden furniture for your outdoor area you will want to stick with the same rules of thumb that you would for decorating inside. You always want to ensure that one room will flow into the other. Therefore with your outdoor area you will want to make it seem like a natural extension of the inside of your home. For example, if you have a contemporary home then stick with that style. And above all let your imagination take hold.
