The BlackBerry RIM 8820 is the first of all BlackBerry devices to offer integrated Wi-Fi. The Wi-Fi is 802.11 a/b/g. This is exciting for customers that have been waiting for this technology to become available. The Wi-Fi runs in concert with GSM allowing connection for data applications and voice support via UMA (unlicensed mobile access). Also, calls can crossover between the provider's network and Wi-Fi networks. It allows for GPS while traveling. The memory of the device is excellent, supporting as high as 32 GB of storage with a microSD memory card. There is 64 MB of memory built into the BlackBerry Rim 8820 itself.
The background noise of most cellphones is a distant memory with the BlackBerry RIM 8820. Voice Activated Dialing along with smart dialing make calling anyone a snap. Conference calling, call forwarding, and speed dialing are great assets for the on the go professional. The speakerphone and option for 2.0 Bluetooth devices allows users to talk without hands being involved. A full screen mode option allows users to view videos in full screen. The resolution is excellent allowing for many colors and decent pixel clarity. The trackball and QWERTY keyboard allow for fast typing and access of software applications.
Users get 5 hours of talk time and a whopping 22 days of standby. An MP3 player allows both MP3s and AACs to be played from the device. All Internet applications are fully up to date and will support as many as ten email accounts. A real find for when you need an office away from the office to manage client emails.
