Picking Your Perfect Pair Of Jeans
by Alex Gwen Thomson, Ale
Classic Fit - Sits at your waist, roomier seat, loose thighs and tapers at the ankle. Also known as the Traditional Fit, this common jean type creates a bulky silhouette and is the least flattering cut for any body type.

Regular Fit - These jeans sit at the waist, have a leaner fit through the thigh and a straight leg. This cut works on just about any body type, however the trend now is for leaner fitting jeans, so if you usually wear a regular fit and have lots of room in the thigh area, try a pair of slim straight jeans for a modern look.

Slim Straight - Lean fit through the rise, thigh and leg. Perfect for men who claim to have ‘no ass’. The low rise will give you the appearance of a longer torso. A dark wash slim straight cut has a great modern look and pairs well with a sport coat.

Relaxed Fit - Available in natural waist or low rise, roomy in the seat, thigh and leg. The straight leg version of these works for men with large quadriceps, however the tapered version should be avoided at all costs.

Loose Fit - Should sit on your lower waist, very roomy thigh and leg, comes in both a straight and tapered leg. The tapered leg variety looks good on no one. Loose fit jeans have more of an urban, relaxed look, but should not be paired with a sport coat.

Boot Cut - Comes in both natural waist and low-rise, they have a leaner fit through the thigh and slight flare at the bottom. This style is very flattering on leaner physiques and on anyone with very wide shoulders and lean waist. The low rise is great if you have a short torso.

Skinny Fit - A very youthful look the skinny jean fits like it sounds, very tight all throughout and sits below the waist.

If the above still seem like too much work, utilize the expertise of a professional. Ask around or Google search for professional in your area.
