Affiliate marketing can be very lucrative. Not only that, you don't have the hassle of creating your own products, so it's also very easy. Problem is, a lot of affiliate marketers go about it the wrong way. They make mistakes that cost them lots of sales. In some cases, these mistakes make it so that they don't make any sales at all. Either that, or you wait until Joe Guru comes out with his next big thing and promote that. Have I pretty much hit the nail right on the head? Well, the problem with these two methods is that you are going up against so many other affiliates that your chances of success are slim to none. So that's your first mistake.

2)Your second mistake is in the way you promote these products, such as in the ads you write...or should I say, don't write. Sad but true, most affiliates do not write their own ads. They head on over to the affiliate center for the product and use the canned ads that the merchant created. Don't get me wrong. These ads are very well written. Problem is, everybody is using them so nobody stands out from the crowd. Your chances of making a sales are a crap shoot since you're the same as everybody else. So that's your second mistake.

Finally, we have the methods you use to get your ads out to the public. There are so many new and interesting ways to get your ads seen and yet most affiliates use the same tactics. The problem with this is simple. You're all bumping into each other because you're all in the same place. Nobody has an edge. So that's your third mistake.
