Is A Playard Good For Me?
by Joe Smith, Joe
How many parents find it difficult to spend time with his or her baby during a busy day at work or school? You'll find that the answer doesn't vary much: most, if not all, parents find themselves stretched thin when it comes to spending time with a new baby. How can a parent get away from some of that burden and allow him or herself more private time away from a child?

Playards are a great answer to this problem (some people call them "play yards" or "play pens," however "playard" is a common spelling these days), but only if the parent is responsible about their use. Utilizing a playard, a parent can do chores, work, or other tasks that require attention instead of needing to be with a baby twenty four hours a day. Of course a parent should always keep a close eye on a baby when he or she is in a playard, however a parent can be certain that a baby will remain in one place. If a parent would like to, for example, pay bills while a baby is in a playard, that is perfectly safe as long as the baby is never neglected and kept nearby during that activity.

If you're in a position where you may be called into work on short notice (as many people are), having a travel playard is a great thing to have. They allow you the ability to take a baby to your workplace (careful not to disturb your co-workers in the process!), and do your work without having to track down a sitter. What sets a travel playard apart from a typical one is that the travel yard can usually be fit in the trunk of a car or on an airplane easily. These models are generally fairly easy to find, so shop around and you should be able to find the playard that meets your needs that won't put a dent in your wallet.

Some gyms also allow the use of travel playards in certain child-friendly sections of the gym. Please, for your child's safety, do not allow your child to roam around a gym while you're working out, or even keep a playard with a child in the main workout area. Check with your local gym to see if they will allow children in certain areas.

Thank you for reading this article. I hope that this has helped you decide if you would like to use a playard to increase your productivity in life.
