by Jim Brown, Jim
Camping has always been fun regardless if you are with your family, kids or friends. It has always been a rewarding experience where you are able to be the one with nature and appreciate the things that are often times so unnoticed especially in our hurry world. There simply are a lot to learn and experience given the time to go along camping. There are endless list of all possibilities you can enjoy during your camping and exposing your children with this wonderful adventure at such a young age will certainly make them follow a path of adventure.

Get your kids involve in the whole camping matter. Getting them involve will let them feel that they are an important part of this adventure as much as you do. Decide with them on places where camping can be held or the places that hold their interest as well as yours. List down all the activity they want to do and shop the food you would like to bring with you. Let them pack their own things and equipments but guide them in including only those that are appropriate for such an activity.

If this is your first time, try backyard camping first before really going out. Consider this as your practice for the real thing. Teach the kids on how to set-up their tent and try some outdoor cooking. This will give you the overview of what to expect if and when you would really want to pursue the activity somewhere else. Show them the correct usage of each camping equipment and let them try it on tier own. Show them the beauty of the night by searching the sky for possible constellations, by the music of the night and of course not to forget those night-time snacks.

Try to experience with your kids some outdoor activities. Familiarize the outdoor fun with them to help them eliminate their fears. This will really help the kid a lot. Teach them every safety measures you know and tell them that they need to respect Mother Nature by not leaving garbage and not taking anything from camp sites as souvenirs. Tell them that the memories that they will have about the camping is the most important souvenir. Also document the experience of the real thing by bringing video cameras and take pictures. Camp chores can bring fun to kids by getting them into contest like whomever more firewood will win or whatever you can think of. But be always cautious of them going too far away from you. It will never hurt to learn outdoor life with your kids.

Bring the necessary gears and equipments and all safety measures you can muster if you are heading out to the real thing. Always be ready of alternative activities for those moments like unexpected rain to avoid boredom. Go on and simply enjoy the whole thing Create memories with your kids. Nothing can be more fun than to see your kids enjoying their moment with you, with nature and the camping experience as a whole.
