The best things to do in Las Vegas usually involve wedding chapels and casinos. However, Las Vegas is fast becoming a great place for a family vacation. There are plenty of thing to do in Las Vegas to keep the kids entertained. You can't go passed indoor skydiving, Madame Tussauds, and The Stratosphere Tower. In Vegas, a good time is a sure bet!
#1 Indoor Skydiving
The first of the things to do in Las Vegas with the kids is something that parents, and even Grandparents will want to do too. The Las Vegas Indoor Skydiving Center will put you back on the 'cool list' with the kids. Located in the heart of the Las Vegas Strip, the center is simulates the skydiving experience with a wind machine. The machine produces enough force to simulate a real freefall skydiving experience. Most 'flyers' can do flips and tricks with the protection of a trampoline below and padded walls. The center can video the flight on request or it will capture the moment in still. Full training and safety gear is provided by the center. Kids of most ages will be able to fly, but there is a weight restriction of those lighter than 40 pounds.
#2 Madame Tussauds
The next on the list of kid-friendly things to do in Las Vegas involves a bit of celebrity spotting. Madame Tussauds Interactive Museum originated in London around 200 years ago. It has turned the art of wax modeling into one of the most popular tourist attractions across the world. The Las Vegas Madame Tussauds museum has fully interactive exhibits -- guests are actually encouraged to touch and feel.
Madame Tussauds will keep the kids entertained for hours. They are able to practice their golf skills with one of the greatest golfers of our time -- Tiger Woods. The Tiger Woods exhibit has an artificial green, different height putters, and (a slightly stiffer) Tiger to give the kids tips as they putt.
Continuing along the sports theme there's a basketball court with the great Shaquille O'Neal. Kids are challenged with successfully shooting hoops with Shaq playing his best defence.
#3 The Stratosphere Tower
The last kid-friendly things to do in Las Vegas will get your blood pumping. The Stratosphere Tower looks normal enough, but what's sitting at the top of the observation deck makes this one of the most thrilling Las Vegas attractions around. Aside from taking one of the Las Vegas Helicopter tours, the Stratosphere is the easiest way to see the sights of Las Vegas from the air. The Stratosphere Tower is the highest observation tower in the country at over 1100 feet. The observation deck is home to a newly re-vamped set of thrill rides. Sitting at 900 feet above ground level all three of the Stratosphere rides, the Big Shot, X-Scream, and Insanity -- The Ride, involve some element of being dangled over the edge with nothing but clear space between you and the ground.
The scariest of them all, the X-Scream, involves a high tech teeter-totter. The teeter totter lifts its carriage high up into the air before angling downward and speeding the carriage at 30 miles per hour toward the end. Just before you think you're going to sail straight off the end and plummet 900 feet to the ground it stops on the edge. To keep you guessing the X-Scream does this three times at varying angles to keep you on the edge of your seat.
