Handicapped Dating - Are You Ready For It?
by David Smythe, Dav
'Dating' and 'disability' are two terms that are seldom seen together: too many people take it for granted that just because someone is physically or mentally dissimilar, they lack the yearning to fall in love or have sex. Remember one thing: Disabilities in a person do not lessen the power to love or to be loved and this is the reason why disabled people opt for handicapped dating.

Handicapped dating through the internet has found great acceptance among the physically challenged unattached individuals from different countries. It is not surprising to learn of countless love relationships borne out of this method. However, some people, regardless if disabled or normal, are not cut out for romantic relationships. Then staying single could be the best set up for them.

The reason for starting a relationship is to get to know someone and to share everything with that person. Dating is part of improving a relationship. How do you know if you are all set for a relationship? What I am trying to say is that disabled people can be emotionally weak or sensitive and they may end up getting hurt. Or they may also end up with a person who is not right for him/her. Most of the time, people with disabilities have insecurities and they need to overcome these insecurities if they want to date someone.

You should keep your self-esteem intact when you decide to opt for disabled dating. You know you are not prepared to go on a date if you feel embarrassed or bad about your disability, which most definitely means that you are not ready for a long term relationship.

You have to love yourself first, in spite of your disability, so that you would be able to love another person. How do you expect to love someone else when you do not love yourself enough? To be honest, I do not think that you would have a good time and be happy in a relationship if you are not ready for commitment. It may have an adverse effect on your life as it may add to your worries and anxiety.

One other matter to ask is: Did you break up from a relationship recently? Dating someone else on the rebound is not wise. Many people tend to go for a new relationship after ending an old one because they want to fill the void that the last relationship has left in their heart.

Feeling sad over a failed relationship for a period of time is expected. But then, you have to move on, leaving the past behind. A relationship that did not work is not the end of the line for you. Fate might have something better in store for you and you could find it in the disabled dating.

If there is one advice I can give you, it is this. Relationship is like a handiwork. It will take much effort and time to do it. Doing it haphazardly and in a rush will result to a bad finished product. Some people who are extremely lucky might have succeeded contrarily, but not everyone could have the same luck. Follow the process and allow it some time and you might just find one through handicapped dating that is really fated for you. Diamonds are produced over a long period of time.
