Buying refurbished goods does not have to spell disaster! If you are sensible and make sure that you ask for a demonstration of the product from the seller and physically check that all the functions are in good working order before you buy you should get as much pleasure from a refurbished model as a new one.

One point worth noting, ask if the model is still in production and readily available on the high street otherwise you may run into problems if you decide you would like to buy accessories or perhaps spare parts. Some of these items even come with a warranty, all be it usually a limited one.

With a warranty you at least know that if something does happen to the equipment you bought you can send it back and get a refund or another product. This is a guarantee that you will receive products in excellent condition, and only a store that is confident about what they sell will offer something like this. If they offer a warranty they have to be pretty sure that their products are good and people aren't going to need to use their warranty.

You don't have to make sure of this, but sometimes it is nice if the store is able to deliver your Cisco equipment to your home or office. That way you will not have to go out of your way to get it, and it is especially great if the store is located far from where you are. Sometimes you will have to pay a small amount for it to be delivered but that is fine, as it saves you a lot of time and effort.
