[B1088]Businesses To Start In A Recession
by Jessica Deets, Jes
Creating a new business is a big venture that comes with lots of pitfalls. But, if a business proceeds on a course driven by a smart plan, the chances for success can be maximized. Creating a business plan might seem like a pain when all the other functions of the business must be contended with, but it's the only way to go for success.

So, what is a business plan and why does a new business need one? A business plan is basically an outline of what a business is, what it does and how it intends to be and remain solvent. A plan is vital not only for obtaining funding from outside sources, but also for helping the business define itself and ensure its actions fit the mission.

Here are some examples of why a business plan is so important to any venture, whether it's a one-person or 500-employee show:
* It helps focus the company's actions based on a centralized mission. If the mission is to be the best dog grooming business in the county, the company's employees will focus their attention on that. Knowing the mission and following the mission can lead a business down the road to success.
* It can help with financing. Not every business will require loans for start up, but many do. A smart plan that's realistic, outlines a mission, goals and what the business brings to the table for start up as far as financing and skills are concerned can help ink a deal for funding.
* Makes it easier to gain advice from others. If a similar business that's successful is willing to share knowledge, a plan makes it easier for them to do so. By understanding who you are, what you intend to do, what you have to work with and where you hope to be in the future, the other professional can give solid insight on potential pitfalls. Without the plan, the task of discerning your course might be tough.

These things should be included in a business plan:
* Company mission. Make it clear who you are and what you hope to do. This will help guide you through start up and beyond. The mission and goals can be added to and altered as parts of them have been achieved, but always make sure the current goals are understood by everyone who works in the business.
* Finances. You need to define what you bring to the table at start up or at any given time. What assets are being brought into the business and what are the prospects for future earnings. Make these realistic, especially in the long-term goals.
* Strategies on how to obtain goals. If your goal is to create a lucrative carpet cleaning business, you need to state how you intend to do so.

When creating a business plan, be realistic and conservative. Make sure the plan is easy to read and understand and be certain to use conservative estimates on such things as timelines, sales and profits. A business plan is a roadmap for a company to follow at any given point in its existence. For start-ups, however, it's especially important the plan be solid, workable and easy to understand to help the company gain investors or starting funding.

This internet business will be one you create from scratch, from the ground up, developing your very own product, web site, marketing campaign, and backend sales system. Now do not let this scare you.

I am going to show you step by step exactly how to build your own product, your own web site, and your own advertising and distribution network. And yes, it will be work. Everything worth having, everything that produces a solid, long term income, requires work.

Sure, you have seen all the get-rich-quick schemes out there. You read sales letters everyday that promise you that if you will just buy this book, you will get rich. But you are not. Neither is just about anybody else that bought the schemes or the books. You see, in today's fast-food world, easy sells. If a marketer labels his product as the easiest thing to do, ever-- for a limited time only, it sells better. But it doesn't mean it really is easier.

So you are conditioned to this idea that to become successful online, all you need is the right formula, the best product, the most unique and newest marketing plan. But that is simply not so. Perhaps you've bought into some of it. It's OK. So have I. Most others online who want to realize the dream of working from home making unlimited income have to, I imagine.

But the real ticket to success for you is not exactly the same as it is for everyone else. Only one person invented the toothbrush, the camera, or the light bulb. Only one person could sell those rights. Once the inventor of the toothbrush became popular, it would seem silly to think that all you have to do is go create the toothbrush again (or the light bulb or the camera) and you could have the same phenomenal results the original creator did. And the internet is no different.

When you buy the rights to do exactly the same thing someone else did online to get rich, do you really think he sells the rights while he is still making the most possible money with his system? Or do you think he packages it to sell after the initial selling frenzy is over?

You must have your own product, your own website, your own distribution network, and it will not be exactly like any other. Sure, it might resemble another, just like one grocery store resembles another, but it will not be an exact cookie cutter model of another. It simply isn't possible. It will be yours. All yours.
