It wasn't due to treason, but rather from profiteering military supplies. Alexander Hamilton Alexander Hamilton married Betsy Schuyler at a home on Olyphant Place. It is now owned and operated by the Daughters of the American Revolution as the Schuyler-Hamilton House.

The city holds four major festivals every year. They are the Fall Festival, Christmas on the Green, the annual St. Patrick's Day Parade and First Night Morris.
