Exploring Acne And Its Possible Treatments
by James Briggs, Jam
There are plenty of different acne treatments and different treatments work for different people. There are treatments that involve medicines and chemicals. There are also all natural treatments. Each type of treatment can be tried until one is found that works, or at least one is found that is comfortable.

General Acne Cures

General acne medications and prevention can be found in almost any grocery store with a pharmacy section or a pharmacy. There are generally three options. These are acne treatment pads, acne prevention sticks or lotions, and acne prevention face scrubs.

Acne prevention lotions can be messy to use. However, they are very good at permeating the skin and getting into the pores of the skin.

Acne prevention face scrubs can work well for those who are not concerned about applying acne treatment after washing the face. However, this does not work for all and acne treatment is needed.

Acne prevention pads are extremely easy to use and are also very portable. They can be tossed into any bag or backpack and can be used many times a day if it is needed. How often the acne prevention pads are used can usually be decreased after a week to a month. Eventually one time a day is often enough time to use these pads. The downside to the acne pads is that the create more trash.

If none of the over the counter acne prevention products work, a dermatologist may need to be seen.

Natural Acne Prevention

The first and most obvious acne prevention is to wash the face at least once daily. It is important that the face stays clean and also that it does not get too dry, so it is important that whatever is used to wash the face is moisturizing. Each person is different. Some people need to wash their faces only once a day and others need to wash their faces more than once a day.

It is also important to spend some time outside. It seems like an odd thing to do because of washing the face. However, being exposed to the natural elements outside actually helps prevent acne.

Another good natural acne prevention is making sure to get enough sleep. Too much stress can cause break outs on the skin. Not getting enough sleep is a cause of stress.

Of course, these three things can also be practiced while using over the counter acne preventions. There are a few things that can be applied to the face to prevent acne naturally. These are tea tree oil, olive leaf extract, licorice root extract, green tea extract, and aloe vera extract.

The healing properties of aloe vera have been shown in many tests. Tea tree oil is becoming quite popular as well as it seems to be a healing extract. Green tea extracts at least seem to help heal things. The others are alleged acne preventions and may work. These can be applied alone if they can be found. However, it is more likely that they will be found in an all natural product that combines the extract with other natural products.

Whatever method is used, it is good to get rid of embarrassing acne. Teenagers hate having to go to school or other events with pimples. They all fear the "huge zit" on the face scenario.

Acne can also be quite embarrassing for adults. It is not something that disappears after being a teenager. Acne can effect basically anybody whose skin is the right condition for it to appear.
