I'm not certain where the term carnival came from but one blog owner will host the carnival each week and you submit a post that could be included in the blog carnival at the host's discretion as long as you submit before the deadline.

The person hosting the blog carnival will peruse the blog posts submitted and choose which ones to include. The host will make a post on the host blog with links to each of the posts included in the blog carnival. Hosts are free to do what they want. Some will select a top post or a top ten and say something about each of them. Other hosts will just post a list of all the blog posts submitted without much introduction.

Blog carnivals generate a bunch of free traffic and now everyone who visits the blog carnival will have the opportunity to click on a link to your blog. You can even volunteer to host a blog carnival yourself. I've done it and it doesn't take much time. It's as simple as I laid it out in the previous paragraph.

That site has a listing of over 1,000 blog carnivals on a variety of topics one of which will certainly meet your needs. It only takes a few minutes to submit a post. Just select a recent post from your blog and submit the url along with your name and email address. That's all there is to it.

Not only will you find several blog carnivals and get some free traffic, you'll also probably find a few good blogs you might want to read yourself.
