Budgeting Your Money In The Kitchen
by Jeff Nelson, Jef

Budgeting money is the phase today, the more we can save, the more we can spend on other things right? One of the biggest places where we can save money is in the kitchen. Between the wasted water from the sink to the one time use of paper towels there are tons of ways where you can save money. Besides, many of the things that we can do to reduce the amount of money spent in the kitchen can also help cut down on the carbon footprint your home produces.

Millions of paper towels are thrown away everyday, they are used once to clean up a spill or with dinner then just tossed into the trash. Not only does this waste money it also kills the environment. One way you can save money is by using dishtowels or rags. In any type of local convenience store there are cheap dish cloths you can purchase that you can use on any type of kitchen, and after using them a few times you can just throw them in the washing machine with your clothes and use them again. If you don't want to spend money on purchasing new dishtowels you can always turn old clothing into rags that can be used for any purpose. Imagine the money that you will save by not purchasing paper towels every month, using dishtowels can really help when you are budgeting your money.

Many Americans have a bottle of water everyday, its healthy, everyone be drinking water. Instead of purchasing a 24 pack of water bottles every month why not buy a filter for your kitchen sink? You can purchase any type of water bottle you fancy, and fill it up everyday, not only does this save you money while budgeting, it also helps save the environment. The lower the amount of plastic used by Americans everyday the better it is for the environment. If you absolutely need to purchase a pack of water bottles from the store try to re-use them at least once to reduce your carbon footprint.

Also when you are budgeting your money it will help to go through local newspapers and catalogs to look for coupons when you are going to go grocery shopping. Many coupons for groceries are for products that are already at a lower price because they are not brand name products, so by using coupons you are killing two birds with one stone. If you use a product regularly take advantage of it when it goes on sale and stock up. Purchasing membership cards to BJ's or Sams Club can save money when buying in bulk. Many of these membership stores have great weekly deals for food and household items that can be very helpful in saving money. Products are also packaged in large quantities so although the price may be higher than at a grocery store you are generally getting a better bang for your buck.
