Taking Care Of Your Dream
by Eeyan Quinabo, Eey

Many people prepare for years for their dream house. Starting from where they want to build it to the smallest details of design and paint color, the place one would call home needs appropriate planning, and so it takes time and effort.

Some think it is easy, as long as you have the money, the planning can be done. But the thing is, the house would not be a home without the owner's personal touch. For the workers' part, it is their goal; for the owner's part, it is his dream coming true.

One of the things that people consider aside from structure and floor plan is the interior design of houses. This includes the theme, the furniture and upholstery. In meaning, upholstery is the general term for household fittings, hangings, curtains, cushions, and covers. It refers to stuffed, padded, and spring-cushioned furniture, such as chairs and sofas, or to the usually decorative materials and fabrics that cover them. Upholstery also includes carpets.

Having these nice things inside the house though, gives us one major problem: cleaning. Floor cleaning, carpet care, and more; cleaning plays a big part on the maintenance of these items. Cleaning companies are available at your service to help keep your house as beautiful and as clean as you want it to. These companies include rug cleaners, upholster cleaners, and other services such as concrete floor cleaning, furniture cleaning and carpet cleaning.

The Challenge

On the everyday hustle and bustle of business and home life, the house gets dirty. It accumulates inches of dirt, and starts smelling bad. Perfume of visitors, vehicle smoke, scents of pets, and more, all of these odors are mixed into one big gas salad, and trust me when I say they don't smell nice. As for the dirt, dust and other earthly filth that enters your houses every hour of every day, these too, have its own salad bowl.

So right before your eyes, the once dream come true home becomes a house of grime that needs constant cleaning, if not regular.

For all its worth, houses are like clothes, and food and people. It needs constant care; else it will deteriorate, that soon will collapse into oblivion, making it a memory, not a reality anymore. One must know how to take care of his home; clothes and self, for these will in return take care of you someday.

All that we possess, immaterial or not, deserves our care and our attention in terms of maintaining their original state. It doesn't mean that just because there are replacements available and for sale in just about everywhere means we can not exert effort to take care of these things or these people. It all comes down to one point, and that is we should learn how to value our possessions. No need for extravagant expenses or huge efforts. What matters most is the everyday attention we give these stuff that makes them last. As the old saying goes, clean as you go.
