Let Your Bedroom Reflect The Inner You
by Jessica Ackerman, Jes

If there is one part of the house that best reflects our personality, it is probably the bedroom. This place, which also happens to be our intimate sanctuary, can truly say a lot about a person's character and persona.
However, there are a few instances when the bedroom does not match its owner's preferences and likes. This happens when the owner does not take time to decorate his or her room in such a way that it will reflect his or her personality.

To avoid such scenario, here are some bedroom decorating tips that would allow people to get to know more about you by just peeking into your favorite room.

1. Opt for an overall style or theme that fits your personality

There are many home decoration styles you can choose from—traditional, modern, rustic, tropical, Asian, European, and so many more. It is best that you opt for one that will suit your personality. Then, make sure that the decorative ornaments that put in your room should match the theme that you chose.

For example, if you went for a modern style, adorn your walls with contemporary wall decor. On the other hand, if you prefer to live in a tropical haven, then it is a great idea to buy some tropical wall hangings for your room.

2. Choose a color that complements your dominant mood

We all have our favorite colors. This also says a lot about us especially our dominant mood. For example, people who usually have upbeat and cheery moods go for bright and warm shades like red, pink and orange.

Those who have laidback and easygoing nature tend to prefer pastel and light shades. Choosing the right shades for our room will not only be significant for reflecting your personality but also for making you feel contented and pleased with your surroundings.

3. Add fragrance

Fragrant home decors such as scented candles, potpourri and oils do more than just beautify a room; they also make the room more fragrant and sweet smelling. This is also a good way to reflect your preferences, as there is a wide array of scents to choose from. Finding one that will match and complement your personality will not be at all difficult.

4. Put in memorabilia in your room

Aside from putting contemporary wall decor or some other type of wall hanging on your walls, you can also use memorabilia and other personal belongings to decorate it. Frame letters from loved ones, hang childhood photos and photos of fondest memories with family and friends, and adorn the room with souvenirs you got from your trips.

This is a great way of telling people about your lifelong experiences, likes, preferences, and the many other things about yourself.

The bedroom is one of the rooms in the house where we spend most of our time in. Therefore, it is only right that we are able to decorate and maintain it in such a way that it will positively reflect our personality and overall perspective in life.
