Choosing The Best Bathroom Tap For Your Bathroom
by Gabriel Adams, Gab

There are many different types of bathroom taps to choose from, appealing to all tastes. You can select either contemporary or traditional taps, some designed solely for the sink or tub area and you can choose from individual spouts or one spout with both hot and cold water allowing you to adjust the temperature and pressure to your preference.

Some people prefer to have the same bathroom taps in both the tub and basin area while others look to have complementary pieces. Most of the bathroom taps for tubs have one spout. Basins taps can have two separate heads and two spouts, two heads connected to the same spout or one head and spout. In some cases, the style of the spout you choose will determine the available choice for the heads. Which type you select for your home will depend on the look you prefer.

There are many different types of spouts. One of the more intriguing types of taps in the contemporary section has a swivel spout which allows you to direct the water wherever you want. While there are a few different choices for heads including cross head or levers, all models only come with one spout. Another contemporary style is the lever bath filler. Both the spout and the handle are on the same base with the base available in different thicknesses. These models tend to need high water pressure to operate well. Another popular model has a very high spout with the handle on the side of the base, but at the bottom. A high rise mixer is similar except the handle is on the base, but above the spout. The choices for contemporary bathroom taps are endless with many different angles and shapes and choices of head coming as knobs or crucifixes.

Traditional bathroom taps come with either one or two spouts. One perennial favorite has the spout in the middle with individual knobs for hot and cold water on each side. Many traditional taps can also be very fancy with chrome swan shaped spouts and lever handles. You can also choose very simple individual taps with a cross like lever to knob and separate spouts for hot and cold water.
