Humor Used By Comedians
by James Brown, Jam

Many families are concerned about the degradation of humor used by comedians in movies, and are especially bothered by the amount of profanity that is included in many of the programs that feature comedians in stand-up comedy routines. Many of these comedy shots are given time slots on a television networks, but would be better suited for pay-per view programming.

Families are beginning to wonder who is running the show because the shows that feature the poor taste humor used by comedians are primarily scheduled to run right after shows that are viewed by children. Parental controls are normally not set for these channels and parents are acutely surprised to hear that kind of language coming from the television set.

The families are battered with R-rated language from R-rated comedians who use obscene gestures to check their manhood several times during their routine. This type of ill humor enters the unsuspecting viewer's living room before they have a chance to reach for the remote control and change the channel. Children then mimic the gestures in such places as church, the supermarket and at school and then parents must deal with the surmountable amount of questions that people have about their newly found mannerisms.

The humor used by comedians on television programs can be considered at best to be raunchy, and some of the comedians feel comfortable enough to drink alcoholic beverages while they are delivering their monologue. Parents might find the comments to be quite amusing but fail to see the humor when their children begin to feel confident enough to mix their own cocktails and relay the same jokes to some of their little friends.

Some people like to be entertained through this type of comedy and others are repulsed to the point that nausea sets in. Some families think that the humor used by comedians should be reconsidered because they consider the language and actions that are depicted on the stage to be a negative influence on their view of the American way of life.

It seems that comedians no longer consider good, clean fun in the humor that they choose to convey through the television networks. They have the misconception that everyone prefers the humor used by comedians to be crass, nasty and at a level of quality that would definitely make you blink a time or two after the punch line is delivered.

The humor used by comedians several years ago used to be slapstick comedy that would leave you feeling refreshed when you left a comedy club. All some viewers want to do after they see a comedy show of this type is to get home and shower off the dirty feeling that they got from the performance.
