First of all, you must understand where your residual income comes from. Here's a hint. It doesn't come from your downline distributor overrides. Your long-term residual income comes from one place only – your loyal product users.

Like a piece of prime real-estate, your residual income stream is a valuable asset, and you must protect it like one; like a professional. (Think, licensed professional insurance agent) Here are 4 actions you must take to do just that:

1. Help out your new customers by creating your own personalized welcome letter that explains in exact detail how to get the most out of your product or service. Take them through it step by step. Don't rely on any company replicated brochure and expect your new customer to read and understand it – they won't.

2. Keep in touch with your customers through emails, letters, postcards, etc. Send them on birthdays, holidays, or simply let them know how much you appreciate them as a valued customer. Or even better yet, remind them of how smart they are for choosing your product or service.

3. Let them know whenever your company is running a special or is introducing a new product or service. Remember, it's 10 times easier for you to sell to your existing customers than it is to find new ones.

4. After they've had the opportunity to try out your product or service, let them know that not only will they continue to save money, but by referring others to your product or service they can make money. You will not find a more dedicated distributor than one that started out as a loyal product user!
