Enjoy Your Beautiful Kitchen ? Part 2
by Mei Galang, Mei
Keeping a kitchen clean is not that difficult if you work out a schedule and stick to it. Clean your countertops and remove any item or appliance you do not use at least once a week. Keep cookbooks to a minimum and store away the ones you don't use on a regular basis. Store pots and pans in a cupboard close to the stove for easy access. Place baking sheets, cake pans, pizza pans, etc. in a cupboard beneath or next to the oven. You can use a rack to help arrange baking sheets by size and those used most often. Consider suspending pots and pans on a wall or from a ceiling mounted rack to maximize cabinet and storage space. This can look really great, particularly if you have some interesting pots that you want to display.

There aren't too many people who don't have a microwave and whether you choose to have a convection or just a plain microwave try and store microwave safe containers in a cabinet near the microwave. Arrange containers by size and stack one inside of the other if possible. Throw away any plastic containers that are no longer used. Anything that is still in good condition and can be sold, auctioned, or given away. If you feel that you have appliances that are in ?as new? condition and too good to throw out, consider OzFreeOnline.com as your newest partner in online classifieds. Log on and check out their free classified section where you can advertise anything you no longer have use for. Feeling generous then donate all the stuff you are no longer using by giving them to the salvos.org.au. They will collect anything in good condition.

Your pantry is the place where foodstuffs are going to be kept that spoil and are forgotten so it is important to store each item so that it is easily visible and reachable. Group canned goods together and stack them so that their labels are easily read. Discard canned goods and jars that have passed their expiration dates or are more than a year old. Place pasta, cereal, rice, and other dried foods in labelled plastic storage containers, preferably air tight.
